From July 23 – August 3, the city of Glasgow in Scotland played host to the 20th Commonwealth Games, which saw over 4,500 athletes from 71 commonwealth nations compete in 17 sports. Motivated by the need to contribute to world evangelization and to celebrate Scotland’s biggest festival of sport and culture, Christ Embassy Glasgow distributed over 4,000 copies of the Messenger Angel, Rhapsody of Realities, throughout the 11 days of the game. The campaign was tagged ‘Reach Out Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games’ (ROGCG 2014).
From the Celtic Park, venue of the opening ceremony, to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, to the famous George Square, the daily devotional was the toast of several hundreds of athletes, officials, volunteers, residents and visitors to the city. With such slogans as “Enjoy your games with Rhapsody of Realities”, “A free gift for you for your games,” and “One word from God added to your games can change your life forever,” the partners from CE Glasgow in UK Zone 1 gained and sustained the attention of their recipients.
The Coordinator of the campaign, Pastor Victor Ekpu, affirmed that the daily devotional will inspire faith in the hearts of the readers and is capable of helping the youths chart their future aright. “What we have done during this period has far-reaching impact and the results will multiply in a short while,” says Pastor Victor. The City of Glasgow will never remain the same! Indeed, Rhapsody of Realities has brought the light of God’s word into the hearts of many Glaswegians as well as visitors from several commonwealth nations.
