Global Watch — Africa in Focus— at GDOP with Pastor Chris

Special report on the impact of prayers in Africa featured at September ‘Global Day of Prayer with Pastor Chris’.

At the beginning of the year 2020, many launched out with great enthusiasm to achieve great personal, group and national set goals. Just then the world was dealt a surprise by the COVID-19 virus which was said to have begun from the province of Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The news of it spreading; went all over media and was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a global pandemic. This eventually led to the government of nations in Africa and beyond to declare lockdown of cities, borders, businesses, schools and places of worship. This had a huge negative impact on the economies of the nations.

The man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, continued to lead God’s people in fervent prayers for the nations and by God’s Spirit he declared August to be the Month of Recovery. Schools, health care services, restaurants, and public transportation services began to open up for operations in most African countries following the prophetic declaration of the man of God.

Places of worship which had been under strict restrictions are now opened in the nations of Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Gambia and many other African countries. Quarantine restrictions have also been eased on returning travelers in nations like Nigeria, Gambia, Eritrea and others. Many corrupt practices by some government leaders were exposed and brought to book. Proposed bills by the government of some African countries that negate the civil rights of their citizens were also stopped from being passed into law.

The scriptures say in Acts 6:4, “…But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word”. Mark 11:24, “…Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye have receive them, and ye shall have them.” At the September edition of Global Day of Prayer, tremendous changes were further effected in cities and nations of the world through fervent prayers to God. The prayers of the saints are making unprecedented impact in the nations of the world and God’s people will continue to pray until the knowledge of the glory of the Lord fills the earth as the waters cover the sea.
